BLEEP BLEEPING BLEEP!

It was supposed to be perfect. Ya know, playing the good mother in law and throwing a cool baby shower with a beautiful cake and all?
Three weeks ago I ordered the cake. It was to be a two tiered, white cake with raspberry filling. The frosting was Tiffany Blue, chocolate trim with chocolate and white dots. Classic, pretty, impressive.
It was all of that when I saw it at the bakery. Then on the way home, something happened.
I carefully belted the huge box into the front seat and carefully drove home.
When I got in the house I sat the cake on the table and opened the box. It had totally slipped over. I freaked. It was pretty much "BLEEP, BLEEPING, BLEEP, BLEEP, BLEEPING CAKE!"
Nikki had the idea to tilt the box and try to slide the cake back into position. I tried, it worked.....some.
I should have gotten a before pic. But the after pic will have to do.

Just remember it's the thought that counts.
I'm sure it still tasted fine.
I saw a video where these guys put a bunch of helium balloons on a little kid to get him off the ground. It took a LOT of balloons!
OH man that sucks about the cake but it was still beautiful.. and I am still cracking up about the dog.. that was so funny last night.. OH OH OH guess what you can watch replays of the WTAL thing on Vimeo.. I can get ya the links and you NEED to see Paula White's sermon if nothing else..
What they did to Martini was funny! :) Now I understand one of your commentors on FB! The cake is beautiful, lopsided or not. Wow.
Thanks Andrea, it pretty much sucked. I was thinking "I have a shit load of people coming over and the cake is crap!" Pretty much mortified.
Thanks Nolie. I tried. Then I though of you as I nearly fell down my stairs. Sigh.
Mark, it tasted great. The kids thought they were being all sneaky, but then posted the pic on FB. Yeah, my kids are honor students alright.
Angel, send me the link!
I still think the cake looked pretty!!:)
Nikki, they're SO mean to my little dog. When that happened I broke out into a cold sweat wondering what in the hell they do to her when I'm not home!
Thanks Debbie!
That would have happened to me no doubt.
The cake is beautiful... and it was chosen with love... your DIL I'm sure was still thrilled at your thoughtfulness! I too learned the hard way... when transporting multi-level cakes, draw passenger seat back, place cake on the front passenger floor, slowly bring seat forward to provide a more secure place, A/C on high and drive.
Looks like a fabulous time was had at the shower ... poor little furbaby ... good thing he didn't take flight...Happy Monday , xo HHL
Yeah I would've liked to see the before pic to, actually the before video would be even better. Looks like it was a fun time though.
Nothing like torturing a defenseless animal. Too bad about the cake, but at least it made for great blog fodder.
Well, shit happens, and yes I would have been mortified also. But, my new motto is..."it is, what it is"
p.s. sorry I have been reading posts and not commenting, but I am trying to comment more on all my fav. blogs :)
Have a great week!
::gasp:: OMG your poor dog. haha!!!! That's just so awful...
Oh, and the cake looks marvelous, lopsided or not. In fact, it looks better lopsided. Gives it character.
I'm sure the cake tasted just fine.
Also, had I'd been there I'd have done the exact same thing to your dog. :P
Sry about the cake, it happend to me once, the cake didn't survived hh
I kinda like the cake just the way it is. You've got to admit, there will NEVER be another cake quite like it - ever! Totally unique, and totally cool. I'm sure it was every bit as delicious once you started cutting into it anyway, although I'm guessing you had to think about where you were going to get the next slice or it might come tumbling down altogether...
Now about your dog - LOL!!! I'd say the kids were lucky they didn't get er... um... territorially marked from above by one miffed pooch! It would be his or her way of saying BLEEP, BLEEP, BLEEPING BLEEP...
Oh no! I bet you were just sick about that cake. I was and I don't even know you! It still looked gorgeous! I'm sure she had an amazing shower!
Poor doggie! LOL!
--Diva,
I still LOVE the cake. Love the color. The tilting looks like it's supposed to be like that...ya know? Like the Leaning Tower of P...Xxx What did you serve besides cake?
Any cake, lopsided or not is good enough for me. lol. It looks like everybody had a great time though
It's still a great cake! It will be a fun story.
What is up with you? I saw fb updates and was going to email you but I'm commenting before then so you just email me at your leisure! I have no idea how I missed those when they were posted.
