I'm always saddened when women feel they have to carry guns to ensure their safety.

What's happened in America? To America?

If they're to be in the house, best all know how to use them. Safety first.

Nolie June 3, 2011 at 10:56 AM

You are a braver woman than I.

Nolie June 3, 2011 at 10:57 AM

Or crazy hehe. How is the PMS in the house doing? Your post just reminded me of a comment my sister made when I was crazy and joined the military for all of 2 months before I came back to my sanity.

"Oh shit, not only is my sister a bitch but now our government is giving her a gun"

I still laugh. I am not that much of a bitch. Right? ;)

Putting a gun in the hands of someone who lives in a 40 foot trailer 24/7, 365 days a year with her husband would NOT be a good idea. That's all I'm saying. You, on the other hand, seem to have control.

Rob-bear June 3, 2011 at 11:31 AM

So, to which militia do you belong? Can you identify the chain of command up to the Commander in Chief?

The "Founding Fathers" wanted to avoid the cost of a standing army, such as the US has now (and which requires paying a lot of taxes). So, they decided to rely on local and state militias. That I can understand.
But if you are not in an identifiable militia, I would argue that your Second Amendment right to bear arms is compromised (at the very least), because you're not using the Amendment for its intended purpose.

That, by the way, doesn't answer my question of why women feel they need to be "packin' pistols."

Bear, that brings us to Canadians fundamental misunderstanding of our constitution. It's my right and I'll guard it with my life.

MarkD60 June 3, 2011 at 4:46 PM

To Rob Bear,
The right to bear arms is designed to protect states and citizens from a corrupt government, which is why the founding fathers left England. The United States, is the states, united, with a central (Federal) government.

Love, love, LOVE these pics! I think it's awesome that you're teaching them how to protect themselves!

Nothing like a few guns for mother and daughter bonding! :) Unique, but I love it.

Somehow very beautiful pictures.

Cheeseboy June 5, 2011 at 1:07 PM

I almost feel like I should be playing Natalie Merchant's "These are the Days" while looking at these pictures.

Wow! Being an Aussy girl (where hand guns are banned)it is very surreal seeing these photo's with guns where i expect to see afternoon tea!

Karen Mortensen June 7, 2011 at 9:36 AM

Great pictures. I love the last two.

The Random Blogette June 8, 2011 at 12:18 PM

I love this! I wish that I had more than one daughter to bond with. Sometimes I can't wait for my daughter to get older so that we can hang out together but I am ok with her being little for now.

Snowbrush June 8, 2011 at 1:02 PM

What great photos, Diva!

Pheromone Girl June 9, 2011 at 8:32 PM

That last picture is so amazingly perfect - I'd KILL for a moment like that with my daughter. Still waiting and hoping :-)
