Open Road!

Friday, July 22, 2011

There's been a lot crammed into this week. I feel like it's been an entire month long in just seven short days. Most of it I have no memory of, I really think I need to be checked for Alzheimer's, or maybe just cutting back on the benzos might help my short term memory.

One really cool thing I do remember is that Wednesday I went to bike night at Four Corner's Saloon. Isabella was an eye catcher, she especially caught the eye of two reporters. They both wanted interviews, but being that she's a bit on the aloof side I had to do all the talking. It was fun, she was beautiful and the night was a success.

My girl, Isabella

Tomorrow she and I are taking a weekend ride out to Sister's, Oregon. It's going to be great! Mid 80's, sunshine and my girl and me on the open road!

It'll be nice wind down time from this week. Back Sunday sometime, hoping the kids survive or at the very least don't burn my house down.

Maybe I'll post a few pics this weekend, maybe I won't. We'll see what I get.

Until next week,

Hopefully It's Not Goodbye

Thursday, June 30, 2011

Every time, every single time, I get on my Harley to take a trip I get freaked out. I mean, totally freaked out.

It's probably due to that woman hitting me and totaling my bike, or perhaps the inherent danger in riding a motorcycle. I'm not worried about myself, I'm worried about the other people on the road.

As least I know I can be seen. My bike is white and pink, how many of those do you see on the roads? My helmet is white with a huge pink butterfly on each side and I've put crystals on it. The crystals reflect all the sunlight and make it seem as if my helmet has lights covering it. I also have modulators on my headlights and tail light which make the lights continually flash.

I'm going to Hell's Canyon. It's in Eastern Oregon near a place called Baker City. I'm going to be riding the Tail of the Devil. Sounds wicked doesn't it? It's 22 miles one way of curves and twisties. It's also the deepest canyon in the US. The scenery is amazing!

The first time I rode it I was scared to death when I read that they always have Life Flight on call during the rally. Not riding with the rally this time so there shouldn't be as many bikes on the tail. It was an awesome ride and I'm really looking forward to it!

Just hoping I come home alive, in one piece and without road rash!

Take a Stand Already!

Monday, August 2, 2010

I usually don't take advice, well, unless it comes from Jim. But I listened to Nolie and got the heck out of Dodge, well, Portland, today.

We took the bikes out to Lincoln City. I was cursing her the first half of the trip.

I live in Oregon.

It's August.

I was freezing.

Diva's don't freeze well.

I was thanking Al Gore all morning. I mean, without global warming I would be frozen to the side of the "Don't spray the bear" sign on Hwy 6 (what does that sign even mean?).

Riding alone on a Harley, being in a tribal casino, having a herd of kids and being bipolar gave me lots of bubble thoughts today. No, this will not be a post of substance. It will be on bubble thoughts. I might just have to make a hop for Bubble Thought (insert day).

Store Clerk: "Did you find everything ok?"
Bubble Thought: "Looks like you found your makeup but didn't find the mirror."

Two people were getting SEVEN frappuccinos at Starbucks. They were standing in front of the straws taking one straw at a time, slowly removing the paper and putting them carefully in each drink. They did this while watching me waiting on them to MOVE it! I needed ONE freaking straw!
Bubble thought: Sorry I can't even begin to tell you what I was thinking; it would be CENSORED.

Man overheard, ok, I was eavesdropping, at the casino: "I'm an Independent."
Bubble thought: "You freaking wuss! Make a commitment already!"

That one may need some explaining. Come on, I mean independent? What an idiot! If there's anyone I detest more than the fringe left and the fringe right it's an "independent." At least the fringe have their beliefs, they can tell you why they have them and they make a stand. Pick a side already or "NO SOUP FOR YOU!"

Jeff tells me he "almost" touched a semi going 60 mph down 205.
Bubble thought: "Then I'd have a million and a half in life insurance, moron." Well, I guess a actually said that one.

I was flying down the road in the middle of the Tillamook National Forest and saw a sign that said "Timber." I looked around, all around.
Bubble thought: "NO SHIT!"

I give my most sincere thanks to Nolie for today's post. Swing by and tell her I sent you or you just may be the victim of my next bubble thought. Oh, and tell her that she has the cutest profile pic ever, or NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Ok, now for the pics I took for Nolie.

Yes. Here it is. The very spot I threw a temper tantrum
because everyone on Hwy. 6 thought it was a
NASCAR track!
